The Rt. 35/34 Interchange project is a 4-lane highway project located in Putnam County, West Virginia. It lies between the new I-64-Rt. 35 Interchange and Rt. 34. The scope of work is to construct 1.6 miles of 4-lane highway and relocate the existing county routes that will be affected. The major items of work include clearing, erosion control, excavation of 3,781,312 cubic yards of soil and rock, storm drainage, 2,000 lineal feet of reinforced concrete box culverts, 1-289' long cast in place concrete floating box underpass, crushing 25,000 cubic yards of onsite rock and 87,000 tons of asphalt paving. Drilling and shooting requirements for this project are significant because of the close proximity to the Jonathon Lark Reservoir and several residences.
When completed, this stretch of highway will connect I-64 to Rt. 34 and tie to the next section of Rt. 35.
