Massey Office Access
This project is in Julian, West Virginia, along the Corridor G Highway.
Kanawha Stone Company was contracted by G & G Builders to perform the necessary work items to construct an access road off of Corridor H to a new office complex for Massey Energy. The scope of work included clearing and grubbing, erosion and sediment control, 20,000 CY of excavation, storm drainage, guardrail, pavement and striping. Traffic control was crucial, as we had to create an intersection and turning lane from Corridor G onto the Massey property. We also excavated and hauled a 3-4 foot seam of coal, generating approximately 1100 CY of material.
Close coordination was required with the owner and other contractors because of a critical schedule and tight working conditions.
