The Corridor H – South Branch Project is a highway project located near Moorefield in Hardy County, West Virginia. The scope of work is to construct a 3.14-mile segment of mainline highway, WV 55, along with associated access roads. Major items of work include clearing, erosion control, excavation of 3,715,182 cubic yards of soil and rock, storm drainage, pavement base, and landscaping.
Environmental aspects of this project are significant because the work is in the South Branch Potomac River Watershed. When the Corridor is completed, travel from Elkins to Wardensville, and points beyond, will be greatly improved.
Kanawha Stone Company has also completed sections #02, #04, #06(at Elkins), #07, and #08 for the Corridor H Highway System.
